Received a warm welcome on arrival. The restaurant and our sharing dishes were beautifully presented and the food was varied and delicious. Our servers were very attentive and their recommendations were perfect. Needless to say I highly recommend this restaurant we had a very enjoyable evening

Used to come here 20 years ago, came back for a family meal January ‘23 and still just as delicious! Quick and friendly service, great tasting food, good prices. Eight of us, served promptly with all our dishes and drinks. Lovely job
Service was very good and staff very friendly and efficient, haven’t been here for few years but glad we went back, food was good and hot, couple dishes sizzling beef and chicken and vegetables was bit bland but otherwise very nice especially Duck, lots to eat from set menus, so will definitely pick separate items next time, recommend
Still the best Chinese restaurant in Chelmsford! We’ve tried many places, but Lantern House remains our favourite year after year. The food is always excellent – real quality you can taste. Even my friend, who dines out regularly, says it’s the best Chinese in the area. Shirley, the owner, is lovely and genuinely committed to keeping her food standards high, often comparing it with well-known restaurants in London. Top Tips: Be sure to book in advance if you’re planning a Friday night visit – it's always busy. For takeaway, be there on time to collect it to enjoy it hot and fresh at home. Highly Recommended: Ribs in Peking Sauce, Satay Chicken, Sesame Prawn Toast, Duck, Prawns in Garlic Sauce (with garlic flakes and spring onions), Egg Fried Rice, and Banana Fritters. We can’t fault the food at this place and will continue to recommend it!
Food came out within minutes which made me sceptical, however was very tasty and service was amazing

Excellent service and delicious food with top-notch hygiene—definitely a 5-star experience. The total bill was well worth it. Parking can be a bit confusing, but it's free after 6 PM.
